Scroll Down for Text Dynamic Markets Leadership: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Business and the Hidden Soul of Capitalism by Lorin J.B. Loverde Volume One of New Planetary Culture: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Dynamic Fields Leadership in the Coming Eras I do not know which is more fun, to let people puzzle over the Cover Figure and gradually, over the course of reading the NPC, figure it out for themselves, or to give at least preliminary clarifications. Let's begin with the space station: it is a planned suburb of Los Angeles, California...(I am, only partially, joking). Below, on earth, are four buildings (a bit larger than they would be if in actual proportion) to represent some of the prior civilizations; ancient Mayan, Egyptian, Eastern Oriental, and Modernity. Thus, the fifth construction, the space station, represents our approaching new phase of a planetary culture that is taking the planet with us into Space. There are vertical triangles above each of the structures. Likewise, at the beginning of each Chapter are the same two interrelated triangles (right hand figure) as a visual logo for the NPC: the bottom triangle (with three angles marked 1b, 2b, 3b) has its flat side (2b-3b) horizontally on the ground, like the base of a pyramid. The upper triangle has three new points to represent a "new" philosophical ontology (well...new to Western philosophy but well established in Eastern philosophy). One new point of the upper triangle (3a) is inside the first triangle, and this new point represents what I will refer to as the Third Ontological Aspect (nature, form, structure, active intelligence, social systems and such). The highest point of the second triangle (1a) is far above the apex of the first (pyramid-like) triangle; this high point is what I will refer to as the First Ontological Aspect (will, power, purpose, ethical creativity, and such). The final point to consider in the angles of the upper triangle (2a) is a bit more than half-way up and off to the right side of the observer. This mid-way point vertically is what I call the Second Ontological Aspect (self-conscious identity, individuality, interaction, interpretation, embodied mind, agency, investigation, control, and other similar characteristics of what we call individual human beings). The important issue is the relationship between the two triangles: the lower being at the level of our material plane of existence, and the higher triangle being at a the levels of higher planes (which will be explained in terms of what I will call the Multi-Plane Paradigm). What is interesting right off even for the casual reader of the NPC is that the three points of the upper triangle started off eons ago - at a point in history which we call a "Cave Man" or Neanderthal age - as the three points of the lower triangle, prior to the Tribal Cultures of Indigenous peoples in most lands. The upper triangle was developed for Tribal Cultures that still give us vital alternatives to Civilizational systems like centralization, but Tribal Cultures remained rather small populations. Ancient civilizations arose with centralized controls over large populations, and they constructed pyramids in several manifestations around the world. What was achieved in the course of ancient civilizations was a pyramid that represented the dominance structure of power, with the First Ontological Aspect at the apex (1b) of the lower triangle politically with everything else far below. The ancient civilizations had their connections to the upper triangle, but for a very small percentage of the population, who were usually elite leaders. I represent that lack of distributed leadership by the upper triangle having its lowest point near the apex of the lower triangle, that is, not penetrating down to the ground as representing lower strata of society. What is being achieved in the New Planetary Culture (eventually to become a civilization also) is the wider spread, distributed leadership factor for the upper triangle. So it is helpful to analyze the relationship between those triangles. The nadir point (3a) of the upper triangle is finally reaching to the ground (whether the planetary ground or the space city ground), while two points (1a, 2a) of the second triangle are above: that geometry represents the most profound change in human history, where the aspect of individual self-awareness in each human is rising above the level that used to be the apex of the pyramid structures of Top-Down Control systems. We stopped building literal pyramids in Modernity, but we kept the many-layered dominance and control systems. Almost any manager or traditional leader in any large organization of Modernity should readily understand that Top-Down controls are the organizing principle in business organizations (and others) borrowed from the same system among ancient civilizations (ever since we were torn from our community in Tribal Cultures that existed for hundreds of thousands of years before ancient civilizations). So one of the key questions posed and answered in the NPC is simple: What is in the being of being human that can change and transform our structures of consciousness to rise to higher planes of reality? This is symbolized by the upper triangle having its Second Ontological Aspect elevated through strong transformations of structures of consciousness. And even more interesting for leaders reading Volume I of the NPC: What in being human is changing like diamonds under the pressures of Dynamic Markets that allows emergence of ethical creativity as the most logical strategy to gain sustained competitive advantage in the Capitalist System? In other words, what is the Hidden Soul of Capitalism? We could build Space Cities in a more pyramid form, but note that the almost flat circle of the Space City is functionally important because the space station rotates to provide by centrifugal force the equivalent of planetary gravity. This nicely symbolizes the flattened organization charts that emphasize diversity, collaboration, teamwork, and widely distributed leadership, all supported by Dynamic Markets Leadership.
